Lester Keate Post 90

American Legion

With the installation of the new officers for the Executive Board for the Post work has already started for some. Just for June alone the Ritual Team has been kept on the go. They have also done flag disposals for the Scouts, flag presentation for The Meadows and the Field of Flags. With overly warm weather that is happening and going to happen please take an extra bottle of liquid to drink.

Great Job, Bodie Bodenhamer for being instrumental with Johnny Johnson's help in putting the event together and all the hard work it took. Also with the help of John Palermo, Ed Jones, Harvey Hefley and Scout Troop 0509 and Dr. Peterson in putting the flags up on 12 and 13. On June 14 (Flag Day) the American Legion Post 90’s Field of Flags (100 flags) was held at the lot next to Zion Harley Davidson at 9a.m. Colors were presented by the American Legion Ritual Team. Terry Dunne spoke on the American Flag. The National Anthem was sung by Mayor Jon Pike of St George who also welcomed everyone to the program followed by Mayor Kenny Neilson of Washington City.

Members of the American Legion and Auxiliary manned the information table each day until sunset then the Washington County Sheriff's Office, Washington City Police Department and Hurricane Police Department did drive by during the night hours. Thanks again for all the hard and long hours that the members of the Legion and Auxiliary are putting in to make these events a success.

Remember, renewal of membership and dues started July 1 and should be paid by Oct. 20. This can be done on line or by mail when you receive your renewal notice in July.
